Benjamin Dunaway is an American collegiate baseball player. He played junior varsity and varsity baseball for Miamisburg High School from 2017 to 2021. He is actively a part of the 2022 NCAA Baseball Transfer Portal.
Biography
Benjamin Dunaway was born in Miamisburg, Ohio. He lived in Centerville until he transferred to Miamisburg Public Schools. He graduated in 2021 from Miamisburg High School, where he played all four years as a member of the baseball team.[1] He verbally committed to playing collegiate baseball in 2022, however decided to take a hiatus to focus on his education. He plans to return to his career in the upcoming spring baseball season.

In 2017, Dunaway started on the Miamisburg freshman baseball team; however, he was called up to junior varsity early in the season. He primarily played as an infielder and pitcher during the 2017 season. As a sophomore, Dunaway stayed on the junior varsity team playing the same role he did in the previous season. He moved up to the varsity team for the 2020 season, which was canceled before the start of the season due to the Covid-19 pandemic.[1] He participated in the PBR K Sports All Star Game. This showcase featured many top talents in the Southwest Ohio region. He pitched 1 inning and had 2 at-bats.[2] For his senior season, he played his final high school season on the varsity team. He primarily played as a pitcher, not batting or playing on defense. He finished the season with an earned run average of 2.10 with 1 win. He posted a .250 batting average and 1 run. His fielding percentage was 1.000 with 4 putouts and 1 assist. [3]
Collegiate Baseball Career
Dunaway had many Division II and III offers to play baseball. However, after his final high school baseball career he decided to focus on his education. During this gap year he announced he declared for the transfer portal. He has yet to decide where he will play baseball for the 2023 season.
