Benjamin L. Marsh
Benjamin Lloyd Marsh (November 8, 1823 - June 13, 1865)[1] was an American business executive and merchant. Together with Eben Dyer Jordan he co-founded Jordan, Marsh & Co. department store in Boston, Massachusetts. He was born in Chesterfield, New Hampshire to Reubin and Mary (Weatherbee) Marsh.[2] He married Annie E. Smith in Boston, October 18, 1854.[3] Benjamin died suddenly in New York in 1865 and is buried on Rose Path in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts.[4]
A death notice for B.L. Marsh described him as, "..an honest and upright man. He was universally known and esteemed as one of the most active and enterprising, and at the same time most intelligent and prudent, of the dry goods merchants in this country".[5]
