Benjamin Oyemonlan (also known as Oyemonlan Benjamin Oseoje[1], and sometimes by the handle “Trillbjm”[2]) is a Nigerian technology entrepreneur,[3] fintech innovator, and digital inclusion advocate. He is known as CEO and co founder of Platnova, and co founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Zap Africa. He also co founded Shortlet App, a short term rental platform designed for African cities.[4]

Early life and education

Born in Lagos, Nigeria,[5] Oyemonlan was raised as the second of five children. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Lagos,[6] and later received a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of the People, an online institution.[7] He was granted a UK Global Talent Visa and was recognized as a global tech talent.[8]

Career

Early roles

Oyemonlan began his career in software development with roles at Microsoft and other startups including Skylar, Inc., Apex Cosy Nigeria Limited, Glover, Rooomxix, and Patricia Technology, where he served as interim CTO/CIO.[9] At around age 23, he became one of Africa’s youngest Chief Technology Officers, joining Patricia Technology’s leadership team.

Platnova

He is CEO and co founder of Platnova,[10] a fintech platform offering virtual cards, cryptocurrency solutions, currency conversion features, and business wallets. As of early 2025, the platform reportedly reached over 100,000 downloads, 70,000 KYC verified users, and more than 12,000 active users per month.[11]
