Beqir Gashi (1966 – 1998) was a known Albanian troubadour and Kosovo Liberation Army fighter, also known as the Commander comrade:[clarification needed] Mujë Krasniqi.[1]
Biography
Beqir Gashi was born in 1966 in the village of Malisheva, Mleçan municipality, and was killed on 14 December 1998 at the Albanian-Albanian border after an ambush by Serbian forces.[clarification needed]
Fall and heroic death as KLA member
On the morning of 14 December 1998, he fell in an ambush organized by the Serbian army and police, in a place called "lichen Has" in the Pashtrikut Gorozhup. On 21 December 1998, he was buried in Drenica Polac, with military honors. Beqa finished with a song to Kosovo's freedom, with rifle in hand, in the highest act of human self-sacrifice.[2]
