Berits Halsband was a Swedish jazz rock band.

Berits Halsband was formed in 1972 in Vällingby ( suburb of Stockholm ) by Olof Söderberg (guitar), Göran Frost (bass), Bengt Ekevärn (trumpet) and Anton Karis (flute). Eventually, Peter Carlsson from Ekerö ( small island outside Stockholm ) joined drums. The group debuted at a leisure center in Ekerö and then got the first real gig at the Moderna Museet's branch in the autumn of 1973 together with, among others, EGBA ( swedish fusiongroup )Berits Halsband then played on many of the music forums that then flourished in Sweden. Several trips also went to Copenhaen and Aarhus in Denmark and Club 7 in Oslo.

In the autumn of 1974, Berits Halsband rented some houses on a farm in Bullaren in Bohuslän ( near Norwegian border ) to invest in music full time. Upon returning to Stockholm, the group got a new drummer, Michael Lindqvist. When Berits Halsband in August 1975 had the opportunity to record the music on record, the group had been expanded with another trumpeter, Tommy Adolfsson and Jonas Lindgren (Fender Rhodes and violin). The group then continued after some member changes until the autumn of 1977. Musicians who have been members of Berits Halsband together with the two remaining original members Olof Söderberg and Anton Karis include Tommy Cassemar (bass), Thomas Brandt (saxophone), Mats Lansrot (drums) and Per Lejring (keyboard). Tommy Adolfsson was also a member of Archimedes Badkar and Jonas Lindgren was involved in forming the Fleshquartet. In 1975, the album Berits Halsband came on the record company Forsaljud. Berits Halsband also made recordings for Swedish Radio, Tonkraft in Stockholm and Torsdagsbiten in Malmö. In 2015, Berits Halsband's album from 1975 was re-released, now on both vinyl and CD.
