Berkley Scott (born November 8, 1990) is an American professional ice hockey player. He currently plays for the Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).
Playing career[edit]
Scott started his hockey career playing at Anoka High School in Anoka, Minnesota, before joining the Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League in the 2008–09 season. He continued playing junior hockey in the North American Hockey League for two seasons with the Alaska Avalanche and Coulee Region Chill.
Scott turned pro with the Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League during the 2011–12 season after being released from the Brooklyn Aviators' training camp in the Federal Hockey League. He made a brief appearance with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, playing one game with them.
On January 10, 2013 Scott was loaned by Knoxville to the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL. He then signed a contract with the Grizzlies for the 2013–14 season.
On December 5, 2013 Scott was claimed off waivers by the San Francisco Bulls,[1] however, on January 27, 2014 the Bulls announced they were ceasing operations effective immediately, leaving Scott and all players on an ECHL contract with San Francisco as free agents.[2]
After going unclaimed on the ECHL free agent market following the Bulls demise, on January 30, 2014 Scott re-signed with the Knoxville Ice Bears, where he began his pro career.[3] He played the final 20 games of the season with the Ice Bears, registering 10 goals and 10 assists.
On July 17, 2014, Scott moved to the CHL in signing a one-year contract with the Arizona Sundogs.[4]
