Bernard Darke

Bernard Darke is a Guyanese preacher.

Biography[edit]

Darke was born in 1925 and attended St Peter's College in Southbourne until he was drafted into Royal Navy during the World War II. After the war he became a Society of Jesus member and then became teacher at the Wimbledon College in southern part of London. He was an active member of Scout Movement and worked at the St Stanislaus College under the guidance of Father John Hopkinson. He moved to Guyana in 1960 and 19 years later was killed there on July 14, by a group of Working People's Alliance members and Forbes Burnham supporters which attacked the bystanders in which he was one of them.[1]
