Bernard Darke
Bernard Darke is a Guyanese preacher.
Biography
Darke was born in 1925 and attended St Peter's College in Southbourne until he was drafted into the Royal Navy during the World War II. After the war he became a Society of Jesus member and then became a teacher at the Wimbledon College in the southern part of London. He was an active member of the Scout Movement and worked at the St Stanislaus College under the guidance of Father John Hopkinson. He moved to Guyana in 1960 and nineteen years later was killed there on July 14 by a group of Working People's Alliance members and Forbes Burnham supporters, who attacked bystanders, of whom he was one.
