Early life
Lucht was born on October 20, 1944, in Montreal.
Radio career
Bernie Lucht was a CBC Radio producer for more than forty years. Between 1984 and 2012, he was the executive producer of the CBC Radio series Ideas and the CBC Massey Lectures series. From 2014 to 2019, he was Distinguished Visiting Professor in the RTA School of Media at Ryerson University.[3] He is a Member of the Order of Canada and a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Currently, he is a Senior Fellow at Massey College in the University of Toronto.
Retirement
Lucht retired from CBC Radio on July 31, 2014.[4]
