Bert Tan is a film producer and entrepreneur based in Singapore. His career in the Film and Media industry spans over more than twenty years. Bert is best known as the founder of Bert Lighting House, one of the notable film equipment leasing company in South East Asia, with physical operations in Singapore, Myanmar and Indonesia. As a ‘lighthouse’ to guide the Singapore film industry, Bert is also known to have mentored and supported the industry passionately. He also currently has 4 other content-production-related companies under his name.
Early life[edit]
Born and based in Singapore, Bert is not your average entrepreneur. With a rather dark beginning, Bert has thrown away his past as both a loan shark and a compulsive gambler and has since chased after his dream of owning a film production mega-house. Today, Bert is a successful entrepreneur with 4 film-production-related companies under his name.
Giving back to the community, he has recently taken on the role as an industry partner with Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to educate students with the practical skills needed to excel in the film industry.
With a small but dedicative workforce behind him, Bert is guiding Bert Lighting House to greater heights and will be expanding regionally in the next few years.

Spirit of Enterprise Award Winner Bert Tan is a successful entrepreneur whose career began as a grip and gaffer, and is now Chairman and co-founder of BeVRR Media & Entertainment, one of Southeast Asia’s leading Media & Entertainment companies in the business of Equipment Rental[1], Production of Feature Films and TV[2], Post-Production and Immersive Technology.[3]
He also mentors students and aspiring filmmakers, and also regularly hosts trainings for industry practitioners. He has also taken on the role as an industry partner with various institutions such as ITE and Singapore Polytechnic, offering students hands-on experience in filming and training, and imparting practical skills required to excel in the film industry. He was also the Executive Producer for 14 feature films across Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam.
