Bespoke Post is a New York City-based, online monthly subscription service in the men’s lifestyle space that sends its subscribers curated boxes with men’s goods, including grooming, accessory, decor and kitchen products. Their online store also sells a variety of men’s products, such as facial kits, clothing, accessories, gear, decor, kitchen tools, and food and drink.[1]
History[edit]
Bespoke Post was established in November of 2011 by Rishi Prabhu and Steve Szaronos, both graduates of The Kellogg School at Northwestern.[2] In June of 2011, Bespoke Post received its initial funds with $25K in Seed Funding from Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator.[3] In March of 2013, Bespoke Post raised an additional $850K in Seed Funding from investors such as 500 Startups, Great Oaks Venture Capital, Scout Ventures, and Bradley C. Harrison.[4] Most recently, in October of 2017, they raised $8 million from Walden Venture Capital, Scout Ventures, and Kiwi Venture Partners.[5]
In 2012, Bespoke Post was featured in the press for their new subscription box model.[6][7] Bespoke Post's co-founder, Rishi Prabhu, was also interviewed by CBS News after gaining attention for the company's business model and origin story.[8]
As of July of 2017, Bespoke Post has been featured in online publications like Business Insider, AskMen, and The Los Angeles Times for their curated subscription boxes.[9][10][11] Recently, they partnered with Women’s Health on a box for women.[12] Most notably, Bespoke Post was rated as the number one men's subscription box by subscribers, according to a 2017 survey by My Subscription Addiction.[13]
Membership[edit]
Bespoke Post's membership model allows the customer to preview and choose their box at the beginning of every month and, if a customer doesn't like the box they're assigned, they can swap out that box for another or skip that month.[14]
Bespoke Post recently launched a wine club for millennial men and announced that it's creating its own brand development studio named the Foundry, which launched its first brand, Base Light, in October of 2018.[15][16]
Online Publications[edit]
As of July 2017, Bespoke Post has been featured in Esquire, AskMen, Business Insider, and The LA Times for their monthly subscription boxes.[17][10][18][11]
In 2018, USA Today put Bespoke Post on their list of "The 20 Best Subscription Boxes of 2018".[19]
