Best of the Best PLC
Best of the Best PLC (BOTB) is a dream car and lifestyle competition company that has been operating in major UK airports since 1999.[1] The company runs two competitions every week, and to date has given away over £52m worth of prizes. [2] Customers buy tickets for the prize they want to win and play Spot the ball or answer a multiple choice question.[3] [4] BOTB is a UK registered company[5] and is listed on the AIM London Stock Exchange.[6] The headquarters are in Fulham, London.[7]
History
William Hindmarch founded BOTB in 1999, a graduate from the University of Durham,[8] and serves as its Managing Director and CEO.[9] His sister is bag designer Anya Hindmarch.[10]
BOTB first launched at Heathrow Airport, where a Porsche 911 was put on display.[11] BOTB operated from stands at major airports including London Gatwick North and South Terminals,[12] and Birmingham Airport for almost twenty years before becoming an online-only competition.[13]
Winners
To date more than 700 people worldwide have won a car with BOTB.[14] The cars won include Range Rovers,[15] Audis,[16] Aston Martins,[17] Jaguars,[18] Porsches,[19] and Maseratis.[20]
Charity donations
BOTB has made over 80 charitable donations to a wide range of both national and international charities.[21] These include Cancer Research,[22] Sparks,[23] and Great Ormond Street Hospital.[24]
Collaborations
BOTB has collaborated with ex-stig Top Gear Stig Ben Collins,[25] and F1 racing driver David Coulthard who was an ambassador for BOTB from 2012 until March 2015.[26] Ex-England footballer Sol Campbell has regularly judged the competition since 2014.[27] In March 2016 Virgin Radio DJ Christian Williams took over from William Hindmarch as BOTB's YouTube presenter.[28]
