The Pawars of Betul Chhindwara and wardha are a branch of the Dhar Parmara dynasty, which are today known as Pawar Panwar Bhoyar.

The Pawars of Betul Chhindwara Wardha[edit]

"Pawar" is a Kshatriya caste. One of the four Agnikul or fire-born castes, is considered to be Panwar, Pawar, or bhoyar pawar.[1] Panwar, Pawar, Bhoyar, and Powar are all names for Pawars. Pawar primarily communicates in Bhoyari or Pawari..[2][3][4]Panwar is derived from the Sanskrit term Pravara. It is primarily populated in the Dhar Betul Chhindwara Wardha region. [5] Mount Abu is the place of his rise.[6] According to historical documents, poetry, folklore, the emperor of Ujjayini Vikramaditya was Panwar. The capital of Emperor Vikramaditya was Ujjayani! [6] Ujjayani remained the capital of the Panwar dynasty for a long time. In about the eleventh century, the capital was shifted from Ujjaini to Dharanagar by Raja Bhoj of this Panwar dynasty.[7] From this Dharanagar / West Malwa in 1500 to 1700 about 72 gotras of Pawars reached near Bhoyargad Devgarh including families in Central India [6][6] and from there they settled in Betul Chhindwara Wardha region![6][7][8] All these 72 gotras are known by the name of Pawar or Panwar community. The population of 72 Gotra Panwar Kshatriya caste in Central India is said to be around 2 lakhs. Pawar or Panwar or bhoyar pawar considers Parmar Bhoj to be a king in his lineage.[9] He considers Maa Gadkalika as his Kuldevi.[7][9]
