Beyond 100 Days
Beyond 100 Days, formerly known as 100 days and latterly 100 days plus, is a nightly BBC World News bulletin presented jointly by Katty Kay in Washington DC and Christian Fraser at the BBC headquarters in London.
Inception[edit]
The news programme was originally produced in response to Donald Trump's presidential election victory, in January 2017. Beyond 100 days aims to examine and discuss day-to-day events in American politics as well as political developments in the United Kingdom, following the historic Brexit referendum in June 2016. Additional headlines in Europe and around the world are also featured.
In context of the programme, Katty Kay has acknowledged that
The past year has been a time of upheaval in the western world, unparalleled in my career[1]
In September 2017, it was announced that the show would be re-launched under the new title Beyond 100 days, acknowledging that news stories on both sides of the Atlantic were significant and are on-going.[2]
Broadcast[edit]
Beyond 100 days is broadcast on Mondays-Thursdays on the BBC News channel at 7pm GMT. As of the 2nd January 2018, a recorded version of the programme started broadcasting on PBS at 11:30pm ET.[3]
