Beyond Athlete Management

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Beyond Athlete Management is an American sports agency based in Chicago and Los Angeles. Founded in 2018.[1], the agency is partnered with the Los Angeles Media Fund, a finance and entertainment company led by Jeffrey Soros and Simon Horsman.[2]

Background[edit]

Beyond was founded by four agents — Daniel Poneman, a Chicago-based scout[3] and college basketball consultant[4]; Jelani Floyd, an NBA business manager and Arthur Ashe National Sports Scholar at Brown University and UC Davis[5]; EJ Kusnyer, a Mercer University student-athlete who then represented himself as a player-agent in five international leagues[6]; and Mike Naiditch, a veteran NBA agent. Soros and Horsman became founding partners in Beyond after the release of Shot in the Dark[7], a Chicago basketball documentary produced by Poneman and executive produced by Dwyane Wade and Chance the Rapper[8]. Along with Shot in the Dark, the LA Media Fund has produced sports documentaries on Ronaldinho and the Showtime Lakers[9]

In addition to professional athletes, Beyond also represents Ropa, the CEO and founder of streetwear brand Ricchezza Forever[10].

The agency began promoting and donating to various grassroots initiatives in 2020, choosing organizations close to their clients' hearts. This includes the Black Lives Matter global network, Cabrini Green Legal Aid in Chicago, the Atlanta Solidarity Fund, Glenn Robinson III's A.R.I. Foundation in Gary, IN and the YouthLink homelessness initiative in the Twin Cities.[citation needed]
