K Bhavani Shankar( born March 28) is an Indian Film director, Screen writer & Producer.Bhavani adapts eccentric ideas with innovative screen treatment often coupled with avant-garde musical score. His films have garnered him critical appreciations, awards and a cult following. His debut film DREAM won several International laurels. His latest release Climax(2021), a Hybrid genre Political drama, was a major success among critics and OTT audiences.
Career[edit]
Bhavani Shanker K marked his entry by Winning best short Film award beating ,300 other films across the country. His debut Feature film , 'Dream' had won 6 International awards. His third venture "Climax" , was critical commercial success. His success journey was rather quick , considering his unorthodox & noir style film-making, which is miles different to contemporary film makers. His latest movie Climax is power-packed with explosive dialogues which also hints his rebellious approach to present societal norms. Climax starring G B Rajendra Prasad was premièred worldwide via Amazon prime Tv in April 2021.
I Vote for[edit]
Bhavani Shankar career was kick-started with a directorial of 17mins short film titled “I Vote For...”. The film dealt with the loopholes in Democracy , especially in hugely populated and highly diversified countries like India. He took 12 different incidents to explain how Democracy could be detrimental ,where vote bank is dominated by are illiterates & poor citizens.
Dream[edit]
His debut feature film under the banner of KAIPAS Film Production house was titled ‘DREAM’. Dream was released without much buzz. The movie stars G B Rajendra Prasad, who had done more than 200 films by then. The story revolves around a retired army officer, who suffers from a rare medical disorder. He starts dreaming and believes that his dreams are real. There is a story running in his dream and another in his real life. 'Dream is this journey into the mind of the protagonist. The movie had quite long shots, distinctive monochromatic colors, and idiosyncratic dream events. DREAM was critically acclaimed and went on to win multiple International awards.

After Dream , Bhavani took a long hiatus to direct a period European Film. The film was stalled for unknown reasons after much of its portions were shot.
Climax(2021)[edit]
In 2019, Bhavani returned to India to direct telugu movie, Climax(2021).It was the first one among the two film deal signed with the Telugu Producers, Rajeshwar Reddy. Climax(2021), was a Multi Genre Hybrid movie, once again starring G B Rajendra Prasad. The movie was in news for wrong reasons, as it starred controversial heroine Sri Reddy. Sri reddy was a front runner in the Indian 'Me- too' moment then. However the director made it clear in media event , that he was not supporting her in any ways but was only being loyal to the subject. The role Sri reddy was later believed to be shortened to a one single scene. Bhavani also ended up writing dialogues for the movie as he could not find a right fit to match his ideology. The dialogues were well received and gained much prominence. Climax(2021) got a limited release(due to Pandemic) by PVR pictures in March 5 , 2021. The story had shades of references to Vijay Malya and Nirva modi. As the title rightly suggests , the movie had an unexpected twist towards its ending sense which takes audience by a huge surprise. Climax(2021) premièred worldwide via Amazon prime Tv in April 2021.
