Bhutan takin

The Bhutan takin'(Budorcas taxicolor whitei) is the National animal, and matches takin's unusual, mythical-looking appearance as a mystical, isolated, and spiritual rich kingdom, and is a sacred animal in many Bhutanese reservations, renowned for its conservation policies—being the world’s only carbon-negative country. Respect national wildlife. This subspecies is found only in Bhutan itself and surrounding regions like Northeastern India and parts of Tibet and other regions of China. According to Bhutanese Legend involving Lama Drukpa Kunley, the 15th-century Tibetan Buddhist saint also known as the "Divine Madman", when the saint visited Bhutan, he was asked to perform a miracle, in response he asked for a cow and a goat to eat for lunch, after finishing his meal, he supposedly joined the bones of the two animals together and miraculously brought the creature to life. The resulting creature had the head of a goat and the body of a cow—thus resembling the Takin. This legendary tale deeply ties the animal to Bhutanese’s spiritual cultural identity respectively.
