Bhuwan Chandra is an Indian banker and former Chief Financial Officer and General Manager of Indian Overseas Bank.[1]

Bhuwan began his career with IOB in 1984 as a Direct Agriculture Officer. Working in various roles in Rural/Semi-Urban/Urban and Metro branches, obtaining extensive experience and understanding in all aspects of field operation and banking.[2]
In Dubai, he served as the IOB's Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries Chief Representative between 2013-2016.[3][4][5] He has more than three and a half decades of expertise in operational banking, international banking, priority sector credit, credit monitoring, recovery, advances, audit, and compliance.
He was appointed to General Manager after leading the Kolkata and Ahmedabad regions for more than three years. He has a Bachelor's degree in agriculture and a Master's degree in Extension and Agriculture Communication from the G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology.[6][7]
During his tenure as CFO Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) reported a profit for many consecutive quarters which led The Reserve Bank of India to remove Indian Overseas Bank from the framework of Prompt Corrective Action.[8][9] During his term IOB also surpassed PNB, BoB to become the second most-valued listed PSB.[10]
