Big Bout - Indian Boxing League
The Big Bout - Indian Boxing League is the first boxing league under the aegis of the Boxing Federation of India. Sportz & Live Entertainment has got the long term rights from the Boxing Federation of India to conceptualize and execute the league. The first season is scheduled to start from 20th October to 9th November 2019.[1][2] The league will be telecast live on the Star Network - Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 HD, Star Sports Select 1. The rights for digital streaming will be auctioned for the first 3 seasons for both India rights as well as global rights.[3]
League Format[edit]
- 6 Teams across India
- Each team plays each other in a round robin format - this shall be called a tie.
- Total match time : 90 minutes
- Each tie will consist of 5 matches
- Each match will be best of 3 rounds
- 7 weight categories
- Played over 3 weeks
- The teams will be a combination of men's and women's players- both Indian and international\
- Team strength to be of 14 boxers.
