Bijaya Lama.[1](Nepali: विजय लामा; born 31st August 1977), is a Nepali singer, composer, and performer. He is an eminent singer in the Nepali music industry. He has recorded over 350 songs for his solo albums as well as movies and is very famous for his fusion songs created from pop and traditional music. He is currently living in Maharajgunj Chakrapath, He is from the Tamang Community and follows Buddhism. Till to date, he has released eight musical albums with many solo tracks like NAKHANU PAANI TONGBAKO, ROSHI KHOLA PAARI, NAJISKAU AANKHAKO SHAANLE, CHURSE TUI TUI and many more.
Early Life[edit]
In his childhood he listened to many songs, his mother used to sing Tamang Selo Songs very well and he used to enjoy it. So firstly, she inspired him. She has never been a professional singer, but her voice naturally was very nice. He has always been enthusiastic about music since his childhood. His mother initially inspired him and was later encouraged by his family and friends to be a musician. He teaches in one of the oldest music institutions of Nepal named “Sadhna Kalakendra”. He is married and has a son, Norden Lama. He saw his brothers and his teachers playing the guitar and then they gave him to play guitar. so this is how he started. He started to sing eventually and learned by himself. At that time he created his own band “The 5 heartbeats” and he became a vocalist in this band. In 2052, he recorded my first song. From that day, he understood that he wants to be a singer in Nepal. Many people encouraged him, especially his family, his friends, his teachers.
Musical Career[edit]
Lama started his singing journey as the vocalist of the band “The 5 heart beats”. His first song was “Maya lutim royad ma”, recorded in 2052 BS. His song “Na khanu pani tumba ko” got huge admiration from fans everywhere the globe and this became a turning point in his musical career[2] His first international tour was in 2006, in the US. He has done numerous nationwide programs and concerts within the main cities of Nepal and also participated in such programs in Australia, Japan, France, USA, German, Dubai, UK, Korea, Malaysia, India, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Singapore, Belgium, Kuwait, Portugal, and Israel. He has received many Letter of Appreciations and certificates from various organizations/ associations of Nepal, India, and foreign countries.
