Early life and education

Doty was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Robert and Sharon Doty. He was raised in California, where he wrote and produced his first stage play at the age of 23. He later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, which he has described as an ideal location for filmmaking.[1]

In 2015, Doty directed and starred in Ghostumentary, a Ghost Documentary blending comedy and debunking the ghost hunting world. He continued this genre fusion with Fugued Up (2022) and God Dam (2024), the latter of which is available on Amazon Prime Video. Doty has also produced and directed the series TV in Bed (2023).

In 2024, he launched The Tuffest (Tulsa Underground Film Festival), a biannual event aimed at showcasing low-budget and independent films in Oklahoma’s growing creative scene.[4]
