Bill Kramer (Non Profit Executive)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Bill Kramer is a fundraising, management and external relations professional with over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector. Kramer is currently the Vice President of Development at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), the oldest performing arts center in the United States. There, he is responsible for raising over $30 million annually in operating, capital, and endowment support for BAM’s wide variety of performing arts, visual arts, cinema, community, and educational initiatives. Kramer also oversees Board development, special events[1], and communications initiatives for the institution.

Before returning to the East Coast, Kramer served as a Managing Director at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles. In this capacity, he was responsible for raising $250 million to develop a new Academy Museum of Motion Pictures from movie studios, film executives[2], arts patrons, foundations, and corporations[3]. This first phase of the museum's campaign was designed to move the project into construction[4]. In addition, he produced major pre-opening exhibitions for the museum[5] and oversaw all press and government relations for the project.

Kramer also has served as the Chief Advancement Officer for the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc)—where he established the university's first external affairs department and helped SCI-Arc raise the funds needed to purchase their campus in downtown Los Angeles—and the Executive Director of Development for the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) where he successfully completed the university's $150 million Campaign for CalArts.

Kramer started his non-profit career in New York City as an administrator and fundraiser for the Columbia University School of the Arts. Kramer holds a Master of Urban Planning and Public Administration degree from New York University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
