William "Billy" Mateer (born 6 July 1946) is an Northern Irish former professional darts player who has played in the World Darts Federation (WDF) events.

Mateer reached the last 16 of 1979 WDF World Cup are beating by New Zealand's Gordon Allpress by 4–1 legs but who losing to Ceri Morgan of Wales by 2–4.
Mateer reached the last 16 on Winmau World Masters 1979 he defeating by Nicky Virachkul of United States, Eric MacLean of Scotland and who losing to Paul Gosling of England by 1–2 sets.
Mateer reached his first ever 1980 WDF Europe Cup quarter finals of Northern Ireland he defeating by 1978 world darts champion Leighton Rees of Wales and who losing to world champion darts two times with Jocky Wilson of Scotland.
