William "Billy" Mateer (born 6 July 1946) is a Northern Irish former professional darts player who has played in the World Darts Federation (WDF) events.
Career
Mateer reached the last 16 of the 1979 WDF World Cup, beating New Zealand's Gordon Allpress by 4–1 legs but losing to Ceri Morgan of Wales by 2–4.
Mateer reached the last 16 of the Winmau World Masters 1979, defeating Nicky Virachkul of the United States and Eric MacLean of Scotland, but losing to Paul Gosling of England by 1–2 sets.
Mateer reached his first ever 1980 WDF Europe Cup quarter finals in Northern Ireland, defeating 1978 world darts champion Leighton Rees of Wales and losing to two-time world darts champion Jocky Wilson of Scotland.
