Billy Wilkins (born 7 February 1997) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and record producer from Scotch Plains, NJ. He has been performing at well-known venues around the United States since the young age of 13.

Early Life Wilkins was raised in a working-class household in Scotch Plains, NJ. His father, Bill Wilkins, a custom homebuilder, nurtured Billy’s love of music. As a guitar player himself, his father showed Billy how to play the instrument at a very young age. At age 11, he began taking guitar lessons at a local music shop and was quickly ready to move on. As a young teenager while most kids his age were socializing with friends, Billy spent most of his time practicing guitar in his room for up to 10 hours a day or at guitar lessons studying his craft. It was then that he began to study with Karl Cochran, a local well known guitarist who has toured and collaborated with a number of accomplished bands and musicians such as KISS, Joe Lynn Turner, and Ace Frehley. During the years spent studying with Karl, Billy became fluent in rock, jazz, and blues music. Billy also spent several years studying under Gypsy Jazz virtuoso, Stephane Wrembel and with his Uncle Michael DeFellipo. By the age of 14, Billy had established a name for himself locally performing all around New Jersey and teaching students of his own.

Education The Scotch Plains-Fanwood school district where Wilkins went to high school had an award winning music program. The high school jazz band, The SPF Moonglowers, is an elite group of talented students that consistently won the NJ state championships. Billy auditioned for the group and was accepted as a freshman. He continued on to become the lead guitar player of the group until he graduated in 2015.

After high school, Wilkins went on to study guitar performance at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. However after completing his freshman year, Billy made the decision to leave Berklee and pursue his career as a music artist.

2017 – Present In 2017, Wilkins began collaborating with multi Grammy Award winning producer, Jerry Wonda who is credited on songs by The Fugees, Shakira, Justin Bieber, and more. Billy was introduced to Jerry at Platinum Sound Studios in New York City via a mutual friend. Impressed by Billy’s skills as a guitarist and writer, Wonda agreed to take Billy under his wing, helping to guide and shape him as an artist. The two began their collaboration by releasing the song "Dark Skies" that now boasts over half a million views on Youtube.

Wilkins also regularly collaborates with Chicago based producer and writer, John Flynn as well as fellow New Jersey native, Spencer Gowen (rapper).
