Binalyze is a company specializing in cybersecurity, specifically digital forensics and incident response. It offers a software platform solution that caters to the increasing demand for advanced digital investigation as a result of evolving cyber threats.
History[edit]
The name "Binalyze" is a portmanteau of the words "binary" and "analyze."
Binalyze was founded in 2018 by Emre Tinaztepe. Prior to starting Binalyze, Emre had worked as a malware analyst and team lead at global cyber security companies such as Comodo and Zemana, developing anti-malware solutions.
The company remained in stealth mode during its first three years of operation, focusing on developing its software platform. Binalyze received a significant investment (2nd round) in February 2022, bringing the total funding to $11.7 million. The funding round was led by European venture capital firm OpenOcean, with participation from Earlybird Digital East, which had led Binalyze’s pre-seed round in 2021 (first funding round).
In September 2023, Binalyze announced it had raised a $19M Series A round of funding. Molten Ventures led this round, with participation from existing investors Earlybird Digital East and OpenOcean, and new strategic investors Cisco Investments, Citi Ventures, and Deutsche Bank Corporate Venture Capital.
