Binay Shah (Nepali : बिनय शाह ) is a hematologist oncologist [1] and he co-founder of the Binaytara Foundation. He was born in janakpur Nepal.[2][3]

Early Life & Education

Dr. Shah was born in Janakpur Nepal, where he has been completed his medical education at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. He later moved to the United States for his residency training. He pursued a fellowship in Hematology-Oncology in Chicago.[2]

Contributions and Career

In 2007, Dr. Shah and his wife, Tara Shah, established the Binaytara Foundation as a public charity aimed at addressing healthcare disparities. Under Dr. Shah's leadership, BTF provides medical education in hematology and oncology. He also established the Binaya Tara Cancer Center in Nepal as a public charity hospital, which operates on a charitable basis to serve the community in Nepal.[4] Dr. Shah played a pivotal role in establishing Nepal's first Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) center, which was set up at the Civil Service Hospital in Kathmandu. His organization, the Binaytara Foundation (BTF), provided financial support to train Nepal's BMT team at the University of Illinois in Chicago, USA.[5]
