From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Binyomin Adler (Hebrew: הרב בנימין עזריאל אדלר שליט"א‎), is a rabbi, author, and lecturer, who was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1969 and has since returned to live in his hometown.

Education[edit]

Adler studied at Telz Yeshiva of Chicago, and then studied in Israel by Harav Tzvi Kushelevsky shlita, Rosh Yeshiva of Heichal Hatorah in Jerusalem's Givat Shaul, now Har Nof neighborhood.

In 1998, Adler founded a yeshiva – Yeshivas Lev Yesharim – in Sanhedria, Jerusalem for American post-high school Yeshiva boys.

Career[edit]

In 1999 Adler accepted a position in Baltimore, Maryland as a fundraiser for a local institute.

In 2000 he moved to Detroit where he worked as the Executive Director for Yeshivas Darchei Torah.

In 2015 Adler moved to Chicago, following a fifteen-year stint of Torah dissemination in Detroit. He continued his Torah projects in the Windy City.

Torah teaching[edit]

Following this stint, Adler began to formally be marbitz Torah (disseminate Torah to the masses) with his weekly Parsha sheets that are distributed in many shuls and kollels in the greater Detroit Orthodox Jewish community. His "Shabbos Taam Hachaim" (שבת טעם החיים) (Shabbos – the taste of life) is emailed every Friday to hundreds of readers.

In addition to the Shabbos page, Adler writes the weekly Doresh Tov (דורש טוב) blog (The name "Doresh Tov" originally refers to Mordechai Hatzaddik, who is a direct descendant of Binyomin Ben Yaakov, Adler's namesake), which contains thoughts on the weekly parsha and/or inyoni d'yuma (current events in the Jewish calendar).[1][2] These blogs were all augmented by Hakosev, Adler's umbrella writing organization.[3]

Adler is also a frequent contributor to "Parsha Perspectives", a weekly column on Partners In Torah's website.[4]

During the holiday of Purim, where most avreichim publish "Purim Torah" articles, Adler authors an article on this yom tov, titled "Toras Purim".[5]

In 2012 Adler opened up Detroit's Maor Torah Center, where he teaches and lectures to members of that community. The center was located at the Dovid Ben Nuchim shul on Lincoln Rd. in Oak Park, MI.

Sefer Poroshas Hakesef came out in 2005 in Detroit. This sefer explored the holiday of Purim and the essence of the Megillah. (Both these seforim were published by Machon Metzger / Sifrei Ayin Tova of the USA/Israel.)

Adler has also authored a Hagaddah Shel Pesach in 2011, in which he uses his knowledge of Gematriya to bring out the deeper meaning of the Pesach Seder.

The following year, he published Doreish Tov on Chanuka.

During Operation Protective Edge, Adler authored a kinnah, which was published on Matzav's website.[6] During the 2015 Palestinian wave of violence against Israel, Adler authored a similar kinna, which again was published on Matzav.[7]
