The Biographische Handbuch zur Geschichte des Landes Oldenburg (BHGLO; English: Biographical Handbook on the History of the State of Oldenburg) is a reference work with biographies of many of "the regional elites" of the State of Oldenburg. It comprises 779 short biographies of important or remembered personalities of Oldenburg's history from the early Middle Ages onwards in the area of the former Grand Duchy of Oldenburg, the historic Duchy of Oldenburg and the present part of the state, as well as the principalities of Lübeck and Birkenfeld and the city of Wilhelmshaven. The individual articles, to which a portrait was added if possible, are followed by primary and secondary literature.[1]
Hans Friedl was commissioned by the Landschaft of Oldenburg in 1992 to publish this work. It was published by Oldenburger Verlag Isensee under ISBN 3-89442-135-5 Search this book on ..[2]
