Birahi Karki (Nepali: बिरही कार्की; born 21 November 1983) is a Nepali Folk SingerComposerLyricist and Social worker. He is a nationally renowned folk artist and has risen to the level of the top folk singer. He has sung more than 300 songs in his career. He has composed and written more than 600 songs. He has one foundation named 'Phoolmaya Karki foundation'. He is going to help five orphan children from his foundation. He has already helped one orphan child named Muna Parja from Makwanpur district.
Birahi Karki was born in Gorkha District, Palungtar-2, Lig-Lig Kot Nepal to Ram Bahadur Karki and Phool Maya Karki. His birth name is Dhan Bahadur Karkee. He was interested in singing from childhood. He passed his voice test from Radio Nepal in 1997.
Personal life
Birahi Karki was married to Khem Maya Karki and has two children, Bishal Karki and Himani Karki. Late Phool Maya Karki, his mother, and Ram Bahadur Karki, his father, have played a significant role in his music life.
