Jokolo (Georgian: ბირკიანი, Chechen: Биркӏиани, romanized: Birkhiani) is a village in Akhmeta Municipality, Georgia.
Geography[edit]
The village is situated in the Pankisi Gorge, on the banks of the Alazani river. It is located 696 meters above sea level and 19 kilometers from the city of Akhmeta. The nearest settlements to Birkiani are Dzibakhevi in the north, Omalo in the south-east and Duisi to the south. The Batsara Strict Nature Reserve is located close to the village.
Demographics[edit]
In 2014, according to census data, there are 564 people living in the village. 92.5% of the population are Kists whilst 5% of the population are Georgians.
