Biscay Bay Startup Campus (BBSC) is an annual technology and startups conference held in Bilbao, Spain, considered the largest gathering of young entrepreneurs in southern Europe. Biscay Bay Startup Campus's mission is to create the next generation of innovators, and help young people create a better world through startups. Each year, BBSC focuses in one cause to raise awareness of important community issues, such as Female Leadership, Social Impact or Open Innovation.
BBSC incorporates thought-leadership talks featuring prominent entrepreneurs and executives, workshops, matchmaking sessions and the BBSC Awards, a pitch competition. BBSC partners range from international companies to public institutions and startups, with attendees representing all levels and sectors of the global high technology industry.

Founded in 2018 by entrepreneurs Patricia Draghici[1], Ander Méndez, Ignacio Santos, who met as students, and Noemí Peña, director of External Relations of the Biscay Campus of the University of Basque Country, the event has grown from a gathering of 300 people in Bilbao, to a community of more than 1000 young people in the Biscay Bay area in 2 years[2]. BBSC has the support of the Provincial Council [3]of Biscay. The event is staffed mainly by student volunteers from the University of Basque Country.
2019[edit]
BBSC 2019 was Social Impact Edition. It was organised on September 18-19 in the Bizkaia Aretoa Building, and it attracted 800 attendees from more than 40 cities[4], including 200 startups and 50 corporations, to Bilbao. The stage program showcased companies like Google, Airbus, Iberdrola or Vueling. BBSC 2019 held for the first time the BBSC Gala, in the Iberdrola Tower, where the BBSC Awards were given.
Berba won the BBSC Awards[5][6], the pitch competition, for the most innovative early-stage startup.150 startups participated.
2018[edit]
BBSC 2019 was Female Leadership Edition. The event was organised on October 1-7[7] in the Bizkaia Aretoa Building. Attendance was at 300 participants. Some of the speakers included executives from TEDX, Fintonic or BioTechFoods.
Stoor won the BBSC Awards, the pitch competition, for the most innovative early-stage startup. 65 startups participated.
