Bishop Bryan Ouellette

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Bryan D. Ouellette (born 1973) is an American exorcist bishop who has made appearances on Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventures.[1] as well as having his worked featured in Rolling Stone magazine [2] He is the presiding bishop of the Holy Nicholean Catholic Church and serves as the lead exorcist for the Order of Exorcists: Atlanta, Georgia Division.[2]

Background[edit]

According to Ouellette, he experienced many unusual mystical encounters early in childhood which inspired him to seek out and understand the nature of the paranormal. Ouellette also states that he did not grow up in what he calls "a religious home" and was called to the priesthood after a voice spoke directly to him. He then applied to various Roman Catholic dioceses and religious contemplative monastic orders. Ouellette left seminary in order to enter into a liberal arts private undergraduate college curriculum in 1996. During this time, Ouellette continued to study Catholic theology and demonology under his mentor, a retired Roman Catholic pastor from the Diocese of Philadephia.[2][3][4]

During this time, Ouellette obtained his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida. Ouellette worked simultaneously on a Bachelor of Metaphysical Science in 2000. A year later, he received his Master’s in Metaphysical Science and eventually completed his studies with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in the same field.[5]

Ouellete left Roman Catholicism for a time and became a practicing Buddhist. As a Buddhist, he was married but returned to Catholicism several years later under the Eastern Catholic Churches. Ouellette joined the Independent Sacramental Movement and received the Sacrament of Holy Orders when he was ordained a Catholic deacon in November of 2009 and then as a priest in March of 2010.[3][4][5][3] [4]

Ouellette became involved with a group of disillusioned Roman Catholic, Russian Orthodox, and Independent Catholic clergy and laity who wanted to be a part of a Catholic Church that was focused on the spirit of the early church over modern politics. This group lead the way to the establishment of the Holy Nicholean Catholic Church (HNCC) and at Bishop Ouellette’s Consecration to the Episcopacy in 2011, he was elevated and appointed Patriarch and Presiding Bishop of the Holy Nicholean Catholic tradition.[5][3][4]

Ouellette is now an exorcist bishop for the Old Roman Catholic Sacred Order of St. Michael the Archangel/Order of Exorcists[6] He also continues to serve as the patriarch for the Holy Nicholean Catholic Church which is also the headquarters of the Order of Exorcists: Atlanta Division.[2] The Order of Exorcists has multiple locations throughout the world and its mission is to help anyone experiencing symptoms of demonic issues or house disturbances or evil spirits.[6]

The HNCC is a valid autocephalous Catholic Church due to Ouellette having 21 lines of apostolic succession (two of which derive from the Roman Catholic Church) although the HNCC not in communion with the Vatican. The main goal of the HNCC is to extend pastoral counseling and exorcisms (when needed) to those who seek out its services. Those involved in the ministry of the HNCC are trained extensively in identifying the various types of possession and learn how to assist with exorcisms.[3]
