Early Life[edit]

Bishop Victor Couzens DMin. is a native of Dayton, OH. He began his public Preaching Ministry on May 12, 1991, at the age of 14 at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Dayton, OH. His Pastoral Ministry in May 1996 at the age of 19 at the Greater Damascus Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton, OH.

Career[edit]

Bishop Victor Couzens has been the recipient of several awards, a few are the Ohio Humanitarian Award, a member of the Governor’s Task Force on welfare reform, an advisor to US Presidential candidates, an advisor and counselors to Mayors, Commissioners, University Presidents and Governors. Bishop Couzens is human rights activist, a community organizer for justice and a frequent consultant on public policy matters. Bishop Couzens has also served as a member of the Northern Kentucky University African American Advisory Board, Springfield Township Strategic Planning Committee, National Heritage Advisory Board, been a featured guest on B.E.T and a host and co-host on The Word Network several times. Bishop Couzens has previously been named “Bishop of the Year” by his Cincinnati Faith Colleagues.

Bishop Victor Couzens ecclesiastical affiliations have previously included: Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, Ecumenical Council of Bishops, Overseers and Leaders (ECOBOL) and E.M.A.C (Elijah’s Mantle Apostolic Covering). He has also served as the third vice president of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. – Young Pastors and Ministers Division. He attended the historic American Baptist College in Nashville, TN and received his Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies degree with a concentration in Leadership and Ministry from the Cincinnati Christian University. Bishop Couzens holds a Masters of Art Degree in ministry from the Indiana Wesleyan University, a Doctor of Ministry Degree from United Theological Seminary and is currently pursing a Doctorate of Strategic Leadership from Liberty University and an Executive MBA from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville. During his Doctoral studies at United Theological Seminary he held the distinction of being the first seminary student to lecture at United Theological Seminary in recent history.

Bishops civic affiliations include but are not limited to the SCLC, NAACP, Urban League of Greater Cincinnati and the African American Ministers Interdenominational Alliance.

Personal Life[edit]

Bishop Victor Couzens has been the Lead Pastor of the Inspirational Bible Church located in Cincinnati, OH since July 2000. As a visionary and builder: in May of 2002 he led Inspirational in a $1.3 million dollar building project and relocation. The church has experienced exponential growth under Dr. Couzens anointed prophetic leadership along with his grace of preaching and teaching. The church has grown from a 300-active membership to more than 5000 in the last ten years. Bishop Couzens has introduced Inspirational Bible Church to a dynamic discipleship model, expanded the ministries administrative support staff, introduced and implemented more than 45 new ministries. Inspirational Bible Church is recognized as one of the stellar churches in the tri-state. The ministry of the church has been viewed weekly by thousands on local network television and by millions on the Word Network and the Impact Channel. Dr. Couzens continues to reach the masses through innovation and relevance.

The phenomenal growth of the ministry prompted Bishop Couzens to heed to the unction of the Holy Spirit and seek out additional space for the ministry to grow and expand. In August 2007, Inspirational Bible Church purchased a 14-acre water park in Forest Park, OH formally known as Surf Cincinnati. On Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009 the church moved into their 12 Million-dollar new multi-phase facility which includes a 1600 seat worship center, youth ministry facility with a gymnasium, skating rink, volleyball capabilities, a children’s ministry facility, a sports-plex, miniature golf course, race car track, cafe, production studio and daycare. The building is affectionately known as “The City of Destiny”.

During the pandemic Bishop Couzens and IBC served as the regional hub for the USDA’s Farmers to Family Food Bank program. Though this partnership with the USDA he and IBC have been responsible for distributing more than 120,000 boxes of food throughout Greater Cincinnati and Ohio.

Bishop has been featured in newspapers, magazines and several other publications including Who’s Who in Black Cincinnati. This national publication highlights African American professionals who are considered exceptional. Bishop Couzens spiritually covers over 200 churches in South Africa, Kenya, and the Philippines. Through his network of churches he has trained, consecrated and or ordained hundreds of Bishops, Pastors, and Elders around the world.

Bishop Couzens was consecrated to the sacred office of Bishop in October 2005 by Bishop Lawrence Kirby the Founder of F.O.C.C.U.S (Fellowship of Christian Churches United in Service) Bishop Couzens is the first and only Bishop to receive full assimilation in the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International. In March 2021 Bishop Couzens became the Presiding Bishop of The Fellowship of Christian Churches United in Service (F.O.C.C.U.S).

Bishop Couzens is an award-winning author, having written and published Marketplace Mentality, The UNcommon Devotional and the best selling book Lessons Learned the Hard Way; Surviving Personal Setbacks and Public Shame published in 2020. Bishop is featured on the Stellar Nominated "Hidden Treasures" CD with Overseer Earnest Pugh. Bishop Victor Couzens is a father and a husband.
