bitbank is one of the cryptocurrency exchanges in Japan. It is run by bitbank, inc. headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
The exchange primarily offers cryptocurrency spot trading on the order book as well as buy/sell and lending services.
In September of 2017, the firm was licensed by the Financial Services Agency of Japan[1] as a registered cryptocurrency exchange operator.[2]
General information
bitbank was founded in May 2014 by Noriyuki Hirosue, with its previous name Bitcheck Inc., then subsequently changed to its current name.
In July 2015 bitbank launched a bitcoin futures exchange, called Bitbank Trade (operating until April 2019).
In March 2017, bitbank launched a cryptocurrency spot trading service, bitbank.cc.
