Blackjack, Missouri
Blackjack is an unincorporated community in southeastern St. Clair County, in the U.S. state of Missouri.[1]
The community is on Missouri Route W approximately one mile east and south of a bend in the Sac River. Collins is about nine miles to the east and El Dorado Springs is about twelve miles to the west. Blackjack State Public Access is on the Sac two miles east.[2][3]
History[edit]
The community was named for blackjack oak trees near the original town site.[4] A variant name was "Sample".[1] A post office called Sample was established in 1905, and remained in operation until 1915.[5]
