Early life[edit | edit source]
Blaine Anthony was born in North Conway, New Hampshire to Harvey and Gilda Anthony. Harvey Anthony Sr. was in the Army and later retired from the Army. Blaine was fortunate enough to travel the world as a youngster living in Okinawa Japan, California, New Jersey, Maryland, Maine and Connecticut.
Career[edit | edit source]
1982 - 1999[edit | edit source]
While traveling the world, it was difficult for Blaine to keep a steady job that would last because of the constant moving around that comes with military life. Anthony finally started work as a stock boy for a furniture store, by the time he was 18 he had worked his way up to a full-time salesperson. By the age of 19, he was managing stores for one of the largest floor covering retailers in the country.
1992–2003: Breakthrough[edit | edit source]
In 1999, Blaine made his way to Maine and started learning all about country life after living in cities his entire life. He opened a couple of computer stores, an auto detailing business, and even sold on eBay, this would afford him the time to do what he learned to love, which was life in the outdoors. He eventually became a full-time Maine Guide where he guided hundreds of clients. In 2001 while watching outdoor television, Blaine made the decision to start a TV show he would self-produce called Maine Safari, and in 2002 signed a contract to air a weekly series on Sportsman Channel.
2003 – 2010[edit | edit source]
Anthony struggled through good and hard times, while determined to make strides in the industry. He began editing and producing other shows in 2007. As his overseeing company Nature Productions began to grow rapidly, Anthony started an additional show called Hunting for the dream in 2009. At about the same time, Anthony changed the name of the show North from American Safari to the Hitmen.
–Present === In 2010, Anthony started the series Bear Whisperer. The series became wildly popular with both outdoors men and the general public. It introduced a style show that had never been seen on outdoor television before. In 2019 Anthony still hosts the Bear Whisperer along with Freedom Fighters, Hitmen, Canadian Syndicate, The Den and is a guest on many other shows.
Humanitarian and political causes[edit | edit source]
Anthony has been an advocate on second amendment rights on and off the TV. Blaine also brought the fight to HSUS nationally when they attempted to make different kinds of bear hunting illegal in the State of Maine.
Awards and nominations[edit | edit source]
Anthony and his company Nature Productions has won over 20 awards in the lifespan of Anthony’s career in the Outdoor Industry.
