blendOS is an Arch Linux-based, rolling-release Linux distribution utilizing container technology to enable the coexistence of multiple distributions within a single desktop environment. The operating system features an immutable core, which enhances security and streamlines the update process.[1][2]
blendOS is capable of running software packages from a variety of Linux distributions, including Arch Linux, CentOS, Debian, Fedora, and Ubuntu, as well as Android applications.[3][4] It also supports multiple desktop environments such as KDE Plasma, GNOME, XFCE, Mate, and Budgie.[5]
BlendOS version 4 implemented a fully declarative system, enabling users to configure packages, kernels, drivers, and desktop environments through a single configuration file.[3]
