Blizzi Gxd (born Dwayne Hibbert, June 24, 1993) is a Jamaican-American musician and songwriter from Kingston, Jamaica. He produces and writes across Dancehall, Reggae, Afrobeats, Trap and Hip Hop and has worked with a number of recognised artists across Caribbean and urban music scenes.
Early life
Hibbert was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. He is the grandson of Frederick "Toots" Hibbert, frontman of Toots and the Maytals, the group widely associated with popularising reggae music internationally and credited with coining the genre's name.[1] Music was a constant presence growing up and Hibbert developed an early interest in production and songwriting. He later moved to the United States to continue building his career.
Career
Hibbert began releasing music under the name Blizzi Gxd while still based in Jamaica. Early output included the Legacy EP and the 7YOD EP. His music reached the Australian Hot 25 Dancehall and Reggae Chart during this period.[2]
One of his more prominent production credits is "Personally," a record featuring Burna Boy and Vybz Kartel. Burna Boy is a Nigerian Afrofusion artist and Grammy Award winner, while Vybz Kartel is among the most influential figures in Jamaican Dancehall music.[3]
In 2026, Hibbert co-produced "So Phenomenal" with GuttyBling for Skillibeng, a Jamaican Dancehall artist who has collaborated internationally with artists including Nicki Minaj and Wizkid.[4]
His wider catalog includes work with Stylo G, a Jamaican-British Dancehall artist with a following across the UK and Caribbean, Sizzla, a veteran Jamaican reggae and Dancehall artist active since the 1990s, Anju Blaxx, a Grammy Award-winning Jamaican producer and Dancehall artist, and The Fanatix, a UK production collective with credits across Dancehall and urban music. He has also worked with Byron Messiah and Lincoln 3dot.
Hibbert released the God Complex EP on his own imprint Blizzi God Records. The project featured a collaboration with Toots and the Maytals, the group founded by his grandfather.[5]
