Bloomington, South Dakota
Bloomington is a ghost town in Clay County, South Dakota, United States. It was destroyed by criminals in 1877.[1]
History[edit]
Bloomington was founded on the banks of a small creek near Vermillion. In 1877, outlaws passed through and destroyed the town, leading to its immediate abandonment. Nothing remains of the town today.[1]
Geography[edit]
Bloomington is located in Clay County, South Dakota, United States, just off of Route 77.[2] It was about five miles north of Vermillion.[1]
