His most known singles are "Going Down"..[1][2], "You Will Never Break Me", "On My Way To You", and "Get To You". Recently, his amount of listeners on Spotify skyrocketed to a staggering 65k due to his release of "You Will Never Break Me"[3] and "On My Way To You".

Bluethunder has performed at events such as the Singelloop [1], Warandeloop, Kielegat, Breda, where 8000+ people attended, the Mezz, 3FM Serious Request [2] and more. In the future will be playing at events the size of Dancetour and bigger. In 2020 he attended the Dancetour competition where he ended up in first place with more than two times the votes the runner up had [4]. He had been chosen over other national and international artists, DJs such as Hardwell, Yellowclaw, Wildstylez, La Fuente, Oliver Heldens, Headhunterz, Dannic and many more [3][4].

Early life[edit]

Bluethunder was born as Jerry van Bergen on the 9th of August 1994 in Breda, the Netherlands. He has no siblings and was born an only child. From his early life, he already showed huge musical interest and potential. He started learning to play the saxophone at age 7. After a few years (exact years unknown), he joined a musical repetition group to continue his saxophone oriëntation. At age 15, 2010, Bluethunder started to learn producing music after getting into contact with several DJs through a video game called Left 4 Dead. Through research he came into contact with the software FL Studio, enabling him to start his producer career.

Whilst learning to produce music, in 2012, Bluethunder started his Bachelor's at Avans where he attended the Business IT & Management education which he graduated from in 2016. After graduating he turned and spent his full time on his music production and DJing (which he took up and started with early 2012).

Career[edit]

2016[edit]

After Bluethunder graduated from his Bachelor's degree in 2016, he started focussing on his DJ/Producer career full time. In the same year, he was asked to play for the internationally known 3FM Serious Request charity event which gathers millions of euros every year, hosted in his home town. Playing at this event got him known locally.

2017[edit]

In 2017 Bluethunder was invited to play at the Mezz in Breda[5] , which is one of the bigger local dance/music venues in Breda. He mentions that this was his first experience at DJing a dance party [6]

2018[edit]

The following year, 2018, Bluethunder DJ'ed a Silent Disco event in Breda at the venue 'Hotel Nassau' which features a big church like location used for parties and such. After hearing about the rise of the DJ, the eredivisie football club NAC Breda invited Bluethunder to play at a few matches in their football stadium. Consequently, the DJ got invited to play at the yearly running marathon event 'Singelloop in Breda, which has nearly 20.000 participants and 85.000 people that come to view the event every single year[7]. Afterwards the word started spreading and Bluethunder got to play at the biggest international, yearly returning, cross-country running event called 'Warandeloop' [5] in Tilburg[8]

2019[edit]

Very much enjoying Bluethunder's DJing, the Singelloop once again asked the DJ to play. Next to the Singelloop, Bluethunder also played at the biggest international cross-country running even called Warandeloop in Dutch city Tilburg. Because of previous events, the DJ was asked by the city of Breda to perform on the day of Koningsdag. This day is a national holiday in the Netherlands to celebrate the birthday of the King. On this day, Bluethunder played at Heksenwiel. Following previous successes, his independant release of "You Will Never Break Me" was received with highly enthousiastic and positive responses and even got supported by a few major labels. This release was his first release to get listed in the official "Spotify" playlists. It was also added to several huge playlists by playlist curators themselves.

2020[edit]

At the beginning of 2020, DJ Bluethunder attended a DJ contest which was held by Dutch festival Dancetour which has more than 20.000 attendees per location. In the contest he took the #1 spot of all attending DJs[9]. This of course caught the attention of alot of new fans, local event managers and also some big names in the DJ scene. In March Bluethunder was invited to play at the Carnival even in Breda at De Grote Markt where 8000 people attended. Next to that, he also got to play at an international event called Campusparty. This event has more than 1.4 million viewers and is hosten in 31+ countries around the globe.[10] Early 2020, the DJ hit a few major milestones to say it in his own words. He consecutively hit 1 million and 2 million streams. [11] "Going Down" is Bluethunder's latest independant release in 2020.

Mid 2020, DJ Bluethunder played at the Burning Man Festival, which is one of the most important, but also secret, festival in the world. [12] [13]
