Bo Kane

Bo Kane (born Robert Michael Kane) is an American actor and kids’ acting coach living in Los Angeles, California.

Professional[edit]

After spending years working in corporate life, Kane studied acting at 2nd City, Victory Gardens and other theaters in Chicago.  On a tip from a friend in class at Second City, Kane went to the casting of the Blues Brothers; he was hired to drive police cars in John Landis’  chase scenes.   On his last day of shooting he decided to leave the business world and become an actor.

On television he played the grizzled Ranch Foreman on Jane the Virgin, an alien in The Orville,  Newscasters in the television series Castle and How To Get Away With Murder,   and a weatherman, Sonny Skies, on the tv series Dexter.  Kane has also played police officers in Criminal Minds, General Hospital, and NCIS, and a criminal in CSI: Miami.  He played  a Marine in both X-Files and JAG.[1] His first role was as a Lab Technician in Gregory Nava’s award-winning  film “El Norte”.

Kane graduated from the University of Notre Dame (BBA), and the University of Denver (MBA).

Personal[edit]

Kane grew up in Griffith, Indiana and graduated from Griffith High School (football, wrestling, theater).  He has two older brothers. Kane met his wife, Denise Loveday, in an audition waiting room.  They were married in 1997 and have two children.  Their son, Austin, is a working actor in television (“Godless”, “Criminal Minds”, CSI: NY, Henry Danger, Two and a Half Men, etc.) and plays high school football.  Daughter Makena is a film student at UCLA.

Bo Kane is also the author of two popular acting books for kids:   Acting Monologues & Scenes For Kids! and Acting Scenes & Monologues For Young Teens.[2]

Kane is 6’ tall.
