Bob Nystrom

Bob Nystrom is an internet personality and programming language developer who authored both "Game Programming Patterns" and "Crafting Interpreters". He currently is working at Google developing the Dart Programming Language, for which he wrote the Dart code formatter

Nystrom has written a few hobby programming languages, including Magpie, Finch, Wren, and Lox.

Nystrom is also the author of two books, "Game Programming Patterns" and "Crafting Interpreters."

Game Programming Patterns[edit]

Game programming patterns is Nystrom's first work. It discusses various programming patterns commonly used in game design.

Crafting Interpreters[edit]

Crafting Interpreters is Nystrom's second book. In in the reader is guided through interpreter for the Lox Programming Language from the ground up. The book is divided into two sections, the first of which implements a tree walk interpreter in Java, and the second of which implements a Bytecode Virtual Machine in C.
