Jain is a CFA Charter holder. He maintains membership on several investment-industry boards and steering committees including the Board of Harvard Management Corporation and The Investor Advisory Committee of the New York Federal Reserve.[7]

He founded the Jain Family Institute (JFI) in 2014. JFI’s target areas of operation include earning inequity, digital ethics, financing for higher education, and more.[9] Jain is a board member of the Student Freedom Initiative, a JFI partner organization working to develop financing models based on salary to alleviate the disproportionate levels of student debt at historically Black colleges and universities.

He established the Cornell Promise Scholarship, a $1 million endowment of the College of Arts and Sciences. The scholarship supports students of color with minimal resources as well as students who expand and embody the values of diversity, equality, and representation which Jain and Cornell champion.[10][11] Jain also sits on Cornell’s Advisor Council of the College of Arts and Sciences; he is the benefactor of the Robert Jain Faculty Renewal Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences.[12]
