Bobin Jon Michael Eirth, also known as B'eirth or B'ee, is a musician and luthier. He is the lead singer, player and composer of the neofolk projects In Gowan Ring and Birch Book.[1][2]

Biography[edit]

He was raised in a Mormon family in the Great Lakes, son of a Californian father and a Canadian mother[2], and has lived in several places all over the world such as Salt Lake City, Leipzig and Prague.[2][3] One of his pseudonyms, B'ee, comes from the job of his father, an apiarist.[1]

He formed his musical project In Gowan Ring in the early 90s, having the first performance in 1991 in Provo, Utah.[1] The name of the band comes from gowan, an ancient name for the daisy.[4] He released the first album in 1994, Love Charms, with a prominent psychedelic folk sound.[1] In 2005, he started a parallel project, Birch Book, with a more direct and personal approach to folk music.[1] Currently, he keeps working and performing for both projects, releasing new music every full moon, as Moonlit Missives.[4][5]

He plays several instruments such as guitar, cittern, harps and flutes, some of which are designed and built by himself .[3][6] He has leaded other musical projects such as B'eirth's Pscikadilik Psyrkuz, Mary Throwing Stones and collaborated with the german pagan folk band Faun in the live album FAUN & The Pagan Folk Festival, and with the martial industrial band Blood Axis as Witch-Hunt.[1]
