Bogomira Jeromel
Bogomira Jeromel (born 10 February 1964 Celje, Slovenia) is a painter and has cerebral palsy.
She began to show interest in the fine arts at age 5, and taught herself to paint. For several years, she worked with the Slovenian youth magazine Mavrica-Družina. In 1976 she participated in international youth exhibitions in Milan and Bologna, Italy. Actually she works with magazine verski list Prijatelj.
Jeromel regularly attends art exhibitions of patients' and the disabled. Her work has been evaluated positively by other professional artists, including Tone Seifert, Peter Matko, Zmago Modic, Lojze Čemažar, and Jošt Snoj. The current assessment of Jeromel's work is that she is representative of modern Slovenian naive art, with strong expressionist-impressionist accents.
Jeromel paints on different materials: cloth, paper, wood, ceramics, and plastics. She uses tempera and acrylic paint, as well as watercolor.
Jaromel lives and works in Šmartno ob Paki, Slovenia.
