Boland Club Rugby Championship
The Boland Grootuitdaag Championship is an annual rugby union competition organised by the Boland Rugby union involving amateur teams from the Boland Region in the Western Cape, South Africa. The Championship is split into six different regions: BreeLangeberg region, Witzenberg Central Region, Overberg Region, Westcoast Region, Swartland Region and Northwest Region. The Boland Grootuitdaag Championship represents the highest level of domestic club rugby in each of its constituent regions. Each team within a Region plays each other twice, once at home and once away. Each Region has a League Championship with a League Champion being crowned who is promoted to the Sanlam Boland Top 12 playoff series where the Boland Club Rugby Champion is crowned, who goes on as the Boland representative in the Gold Cup.
Promotion and relegation
A system of promotion and relegation exists between the Boland Grootuitdaag Championship and the Boland Gemeenskapskild.. The lowest placed team is relegated to the Gemeenskapskild Championship, and the winner of the Gemeenskapskild Championship is promoted to the Grootuitdaag Championship. An additional team is promoted after a series of play-offs involving the second lowest finisher in the Boland Grootuitdaag Championship and the second placed finisher in the Gemeenskapskild Championship.' In addition to the above-mentioned Championships there also exists a lower division called the Streekuitdaag Championship.
The Boland Rugby Union championships then exist as the following:

After all the teams play each other, a log is then used to determine where the top 2 teams in each of the group's progress to the Semi-finals. Team number 1 in Group A then plays team Number 2 in Group B and vice versa. The winners of these two semis then progress to the final where the SANLAM BOLAND TOP12 BOLAND GROOTUITDAAG CHAMPION is crowned who goes on as the Boland representative in the Gold Cup.
