Boomer Mays (born July 14,1993) is an American football Linebacker and Longsnapper currently in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Northern Illinois, and went undrafted and signed to the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Early Years[edit]

Born in Clinton, Missouri, Mays grew up in Lawrence, KS and attended Eudora High School in Eudora, Kansas. He led the Cardinals in tackles for four years and set a state record recording over 400 career tackles. Ranked #1 in the state of Kansas as a Linebacker and in the top 50 by rivals.com He became a High School All- American Linebacker and was named MVP at the Max Emfinger All American game in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Also a highly skilled Long Snapper he was ranked #3 Long Snapper in the Country by Khols National kicking showcase in Orlando, Florida. Mays was also a state wrestler finishing his senior season with a record of 42-2 and wrestled in the Kansas vs. Missouri Metro Classic sponsored by the U.S. Army. In the spring of his senior year Mays became State Champion power lifter, only participating for the first time ever simply because his weights coach asked him to just a couple weeks prior. Mays was the first Male African American Athlete in his high schools history to have his picture added to the All State wall for both Football, wrestling, and powerlifting.

Professions Career[edit]

Coming out of Northern Illinois, Mays was a projected third or fourth round pick by majority of NFL draft experts and scouts. He received and invitation to play the NFLPA bowl and was one vote off from the NFL Combine as one of the few Linebacker and Long Snappers in College Football. On March 11, 2016 Mays participated in the Northern Illinois' pro day coming off an Oblique injury. Even though Mays was still injured he performed in all combine drills out performing majority of the Linebackers in the combine. Scouts and representatives from 30 NFL teams attended Mays pro day. Mays preparation for his combine and pro day came from Training of Mark Simoneau and native Kansasn a NFL and Super Bowl Champion Vet.

Mays attended several private workouts with teams that included the Green Bay Packers , Kansas City Chiefs, and Oakland Raiders. He was ranked in the top 10 best Linebacker prospects by the NFLDraftScout.com and Sports Illustrated.

The Miami Dolphins called to select Mays in the 6th round and Mays became a priority Free Agent Signed to the Kansas City Chiefs.

March 12, 2018 Mays was traded to Miami Dolphins and played in the YourCall Football league in Vero Beach, Florida

On October 12,2018 Mays signed a 3 year $250,000 with the San Antonio Commanders in the Alliance of America Football league (AAF)

February 3, 2019 Mays was signed to Jacksonville, Jaguars and played in the second season of the YourCall Football league in JAX.

In addition to his football career, Boomer Mays has been in various rolls on TV and on the silver screen in theaters. His acting rolls include Fireman #4 in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2021), Handsome Guy in Disney's "Cruella" (2021) and Party Guest in "Screem" (2022). Boomer is also known for "NFL on FOX" (1994), "WWE Raw" (1993) and "BattleBots" (2015).

Personal Life[edit]

Mays works out average six hours a day 6 times a week. Mays extreme hard working a perseverance lifestyle caught the attention of his first Endorsor Adidas. Mays also received multiple Endorsement deals with Maui Jim Sunglasses and Powerade.

Mays does his strength training at Olympic Iron Gym( Home of MarrsBar). His father is long time friend of owner and creator of the gym and MarrsBar. While there Mays became a product Ambassador for MarrsBar a revolutionary new squat bar giving the user perfect form without stress or pain of back and joints.

Upon the announcement of signing with the Chiefs Mays name and story became a household name in the Kansas City area he was publicly recognizable the following day.

Prior to signing with the Philadelphia Eagles Mays was featured in an article by Heavy.com that became the highest trending article in Pennsylvania during the 2020 NFL Draft attracting National attention. Mays later had an interview with ESPNHawaii where Mays coined the trending phrase "Training in Isolation". Mays was among the top professional athletes to have over ten interviews nationally during the pandemic shut down in 2020.

Mays Professional journey allowed him to become from Friends with A-Lists celebrities such as Chuck D, Stefan Daniel Bell and Jimmy Star. Mays is one of the most fan engaging NFL players on social Media. Mays who publicly talks with actor rapper Ice T on Twitter on a weekly basis. Mays who loves the city of Las Vegas had become friends with members organization Conor McGregor UFC superstar and Anthony Joshua Heavy Weight boxing Champ.

Outside of Football Boomer has lovable Television and Media personality has landed him three movie scripts.

In summer of 2020 Mays had his first paparazzi encounter while leaving the Oak Park Mall in Overland Park, Kansas that drew the attention of the local news.
