The Border City Fire Department currently operates out of two stations, Border City Hose Company and Serven Volunteer Fire Company. The department is governed by a board of commissioners. The department responds to about 100 calls a year.

Location

The Border City Fire Department is located in Upstate New York between Geneva, New York and Waterloo (town), New York. The Border City fire district consists of the town of Fayette, New York, and parts of Waterloo. This district covers approximately 3,500 people over a 20-square-mile (52 km2) area. The Border City Fire Department runs an average of 300 calls per year.

Fire Fighters

The department is a fully volunteer department with approximately 50 volunteers. All new members must be voted into the department after they apply and they must attend the fire fighter I class before they can become full members of the department.

The Border City Fire Department was established in 1908 and was originally named Border City Hose Company. In 1950 the Serven Volunteer Fire Company was established because of the heavy train traffic and was renamed the Border City Fire Department.

Border City Dive Team

The Border City fire district contains ponds, canals and lake frontage. For these reasons the department has established a dive team for aquatic search and rescue operations. Border City Dive Team was established and was founded by Robert Dwello. The scuba team currently has a boat and.
