Boris Nikolayevich Belousov (Russian: Бори́с Никола́евич Белоу́сов; 1930–1998) was a Soviet cosmonaut. In 1962-1968 he was one of the earlier members of the Cosmonaut Squadron but never flew to the space. In the late 1980ies he wrote numerous letters to the Soviet leadership arguing that he would be the best candidate to break the Guiness record for the oldest person in space but his offer was rejected.[1][2]
