Boston Hand to Shoulder (formerly known as Hand Surgery PC) is an orthopedic medical practice located in Newton, Massachusetts, specializing in the treatment of upper and lower extremity conditions. - Matthew I. Leibman, M.D. serves as a hand and wrist consultant for the Boston Bruins[1], Boston Red Sox[2] and New England Patriots[3]. He was honored as one of America's Top 50 Doctors[4] by the American Doctor Society and has authored numerous publications including Scaphoid Fracture in the Elite Athlete[5] .
- David E. Ruchelsman, M.D., F.A.A.O.S. holds the position of Chief of the Division of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery[6] at Newton-Wellesley Hospital/Partners Health Care (now Mass General Brigham) since 2017, after serving as Assistant Chief from 2013 to 2017. He earned his Subspecialty Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand and Upper Extremity in 2013. Dr. Ruchelsman serves as a consultant to several collegiate athletic departments including Harvard University, Boston College, Brandeis University, and Babson College, and has been team physician for USA National Maccabiah Teams[7] since 2013. In November 2025, he was appointed as a second opinion hand and wrist surgeon for the NBA/NBPA. He has published over 60 research articles, book chapters, and presentations in the field of hand and upper extremity surgery[8].
- Michael S. Guss, M.D. is an orthopedic surgeon, clinical instructor of orthopedic surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine, and is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has published research on distal biceps tendon ruptures in NFL players[9] and has performed surgeries on professional athletes, including Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco for a wrist fracture in 2023.
- Evan M. Farina, M.D. is an Orthopaedic Sports Surgeon with experience caring for most professional and collegiate sports teams in Boston including the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, New England Revolution, Boston College Athletics, Harvard University Athletics and Boston Ballet. He completed surgical training at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. He has over 30 published works[10]
