Bow Pass, also known as Bow Summit, is a mountain pass in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. The Icefields Parkway reaches its highest point, 2,070 m (6,790 ft), at the pass.[1] The name Bow Pass was made official on 31 March 1924.[2]

Geography

The pass lies in the Canadian Rockies and is crossed by the Icefields Parkway, Highway 93, between Lake Louise and Jasper. Parks Canada describes the parkway's high point at the pass as the starting point for a walk beyond the Peyto Lake viewpoint to the Bow Summit Viewpoint, reached by way of a former fire road.[1]

The Geographical Names Board of Canada records the feature under the official name Bow Pass, in the province of Alberta, at 51°43′12″N 116°29′40″W.[2]
